I’m Tristen Van Dongen, a freelance illustrator based in Brantford, Ontario.
In my drawing process, I take inspiration from the world around me. The tiny details, the structures of nature, the little quirks that make up the human experience. And I pair that curiosity with research, using facts and theory to influence the concepts within my work.
I am also a collector, not of anything precious, rare, or valuable, but of things that are unique. From old jars to metal scraps, every small trinket holds a story, and I bring that ethos into my work. Using a bold, colourful style, I believe anything, even the seemingly mundane, can inspire an illustration. I’d love to work with you!
